Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Foundation Awards
The AAMI Foundation/Institute for Technology in Health Care Clinical Application Award is given to a clinical
engineer in recognition of a paper or presentation that shows how to solve a clinical patient care problem
through use of computers or other technological means.
Eligible candidates are:
- Clinical engineers who have demonstrated the practical and appropriate application of engineering,
science, and technology for the solution of a problem in clinical medicine.
- Professionals who have successfully coordinated a project or effort that has promoted the practical
application of engineering technology in patient care.
- Clinical engineers who currently, or have plans to, work in a clinical setting including experienced
professionals and new graduates.
- Individuals who are innovative, creative, and committed to fundamentally
improving the health and well being of the population.
- Committed to continue their career in the health care field.
The award consists of $1,200 and an engraved plaque. Awardees will be invited to present their winning
submission which can be either a new paper or a previously published piece of work during a session at
the AAMI Annual Conference and Exposition. The webpage for the Association for the Advancement of Medical
